Start your day by the coast and within 40 minutes find yourself in a beautiful forest trail leading us right to the famous Platres village – a town with a resident population of fewer than 300. Together we will take a beautiful and easy hike through the forest to reach an enchanting place, the Kalidonia waterfall. After inhaling the fresh mountain air, bathing in the waterfall and absorbing its naturally relaxing minerals we will head to a local winery, Ktima Gerolemo, for an introduction into the wine history of Cyprus and wine tasting. Did you know that the world’s oldest named wine still in production belongs to Cyprus? Its name is ”Commandaria” and is dating back to the crusades in the 12th century. Commandaria is an amber-coloured sweet dessert wine made on the foothills of the Troodos mountains.
Are you feeling relaxed yet? If not, it is time to dig in at one of the most traditional restaurants in the beautiful village of Omodos. We will enjoy an over 15 course lunch, which we refer to this as Meze, which is full of local foods, fruits, salads and drinks. Once you have fallen in love with our traditional culture we will take you on a tour around Omodos village and indulge you in their famous wine, Zivania spirit, handmade narrow-knit lacing, Arkatena bread and picturesque views from the village.
